Abstract

The study was undertaken for the purpose of assessing the influence of teaching practice and classroom performance of business education students in Al-Hikmah University in Kwara State, Nigeria. Two research questions were drawn to guide the study while two null hypotheses were formulated for testing. The population of the study comprised 43 business education students in Al-Hikmah University in Kwara State, Nigeria. A 4-point rating scale structured questionnaire was used for data collection. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the research questions while for the hypotheses formulated, t-test was employed in testing the formulated hypotheses. All the hypotheses were tested at significance level of 0.05. The findings of the study revealed among others that, teaching practice experience has significant influence on the classroom performance of business education students in Al-Hikmah University in Kwara State, Nigeria. It was recommended among others that, faculties should organize micro teaching for business education student on regular bases, this would enable them gain some experiences that will be useful to them during the teaching practice.
