Teacher As a Decision Maker: Implication for Career Counselling in Rivers State

Abstract

This study reviewed a topic titled “teacher as a decision maker: implication for career counselling”. The study looks at a teacher as someone who act as a guide and inspiration to students both young and old. The study reviewed the following sub-headings or concepts: concepts of effective teacher in decision making, making decisions about basic teaching functions, teachers as decision maker, areas teachers make decision, teachers careful observation, Spearman’s two-factor theory, illustration of Spearman’s cubical model representing the structure of intellect, types of instructional decisions teachers make, and implication of career counselling in relation to the behaviour of the learners and the teachers. The study concluded that teachers make effective decisions in times of doing their work and that teacher belief led them to make important classroom decisions that affect how students learn in school.
