Education Managers’ Perception on the Relevance of Integrating Cutting-Edge Technologies in Teaching Accounting in Tertiary Institutions in Rivers State

Abstract

This study investigated education managers' perception of the relevance of integrating cutting-edge technologies in teaching accounting education in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. The study aimed to determine the perceived relevance of multimedia and software technologies in enhancing accounting education. The entire population was studied. A descriptive survey design was adopted, with a population of 94 education managers in tertiary institutions in Rivers State. A self-structured questionnaire, validated by experts and tested for reliability (r = 0.89), was used for data collection. Mean, standard deviation, and one-way ANOVA were used for data analysis. Findings revealed that education managers perceived the integration of multimedia and software technologies as very relevant and relevant in teaching accounting. Based on these findings, the researchers recommend that the government provide relevant technologies and equipment to enhance teaching and learning, and that older education managers receive adequate training to integrate these technologies effectively.
